Senior Lab Technician - Qatar - Doha

Natural Resources seeking to recruit a SENIOR LABORATORY TECHNICIAN for Operated Offshore Oil Field Development Department on a Residential contract based in  Dukhan, Qatar

Purpose

• Supervise and participate in handling, preparing and providing for clients a variety of rock samples, such as: cores, core slabs, core plugs, thin sections, butt ends, cuttings and preserved samples and others which are managed by the Core Laboratory and Core store. ·
• Manage and operate all in house equipment and machines. ·
• Supervise and perform Routine Core Analysis (RCA) using equipment such as Spectral Core Gamma Ray, Minipermeameter, Core Photography, Helium Porosimeter, Gas Permeameter and Dean Stark apparatus.
• Thin section preparation will be considered as a plus.
• Carry-out sample administrative duties by recording all sample movements carried out by candidate and/or other technicians in the Core Inventory Managing System (CIMS) as per Core Store operations Procedures.

Experience/Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years working experience; 8 years preferred, within a similar a Core processing laboratory or an equivalent expertise level gained in a third party Geological Laboratory, or similar operational environment.
• Completion of Secondary School education.
